Summary

Chapter 3

In Chapter 3, New Year, New Experiences, Emma begins the new quarter of school, and everything seems like it is back to normal on the surface. Once again she dives into her studies, but underneath she feels that things are different. Peyton, however, begs her to go to another party with her. The other girls agree to go, so Emma gives in. The girls try to show Emma that she can have alcohol without getting drunk from it. Serena and Emma share a love of music with fast beats and heavy guitar. They often go to enjoy the bands at the club where Serena’s boyfriend James, an education major, works as a bouncer.

At the party, Emma tries Jell-O shots for the first time. Peyton meets up with her friend Tom whom she only sees at parties and with whom she has not...
