Summary

The novel is told from the perspective of a mountain lion in first-person present. There are no chapter markers or punctuation marks in the whole book. Instead, the text is only broken up by line breaks. The mountain lion lives in “ellay” He wakes up in his thickets to the sound of a whip cracking. A bulky man wearing a leather jacket and brown hat is swinging the whip while a woman records him pretending to be Indiana Jones. The sound of the whip makes the mountain lion feel hungry and angry.
