Summary

In Chapter IV, Teresa recalls meeting a young man named Niko on her first visit nine years ago. Niko was an instructor at the diving center. They met when he informed Teresa about the different excursions on offer. In the present, Teresa bumped into Niko on her second day. He took a moment to recognize her but then he remembered her. To soothe his anxiety, Teresa slipped into the conversation that she knew he was married now. They made an arrangement to meet the next day. Teresa remembered the last time she saw John. He had approached her and revealed that he was in the town because he had tracked down Stephen Stanton, the man who had killed Gareth, and intended to kill him. John and Teresa debated the ethics of revenge and Teresa tried to dissuade him from this course...
