Summary

In Chapter 16, Tessa is at work. She and her co-worker talk about Marian. He says that she is not going to be fired because they know that she is not like her sister. Tessa thinks to herself that she is. She later talks to her mother who tells her that Marian came to see her at the Dunlops' house. She is not mad at Marian. Tessa said that she would be mad at her if she had done the same thing. Tessa says that they do not know Marian. Her mother says that she knows who Marian is and who Tessa is. Tessa calls herself a bystander.
