Summary

In Chapter 5, when Che arrives at home, Rosa tells him that their parents are fighting about being nice to the McBrunights. She says David insists they be extra nice because the McBrunights are paying for their apartment. Rosa wonders why they have not met the family before since David and Sally claim the two couples have been best friends since childhood.

Che gives more of Rosa’s background. He describes how she threw tantrums until she realized they did not work. At that point, she began telling lies in public to embarrass her family. Their parents took her to a doctor with whom she behaved perfectly but continued lying in public.
