The Hamilton Hotel

The Chicago headquarters of the Madison family plays a strong role in the story line. Regan's office is located here, as is her temporary living quarters. She's making use of a hotel suite while her stepfather lives in the family home. The new running track in the hotel's gym also plays a prominent role in the story. Its completion is unknown to the killer, who incorrectly assumes Regan is still using the public jogging path in the park.

The Jogging Path

A photograph taken at the dedication of the jogging path is what draws the killer's attention to Regan. The photo appears in the newspaper, along with an article in which Regan is quoted as saying she jogs at the park several times a week.

This gives the killer an idea as to how to reach Regan. But he doesn't realize that the new track...
