Summary

In "Common to Man," on the drive to church, City thought about Long Division. The "existence of at least two" copies, and "the words in the books" confused City (107). Because Baize was time traveling in the book, City wondered if she was time traveling in real life(107).

During the service, City listened to Reverend Cherry's sermon. Then Reverend Cherry called City up to read a passage. Afterwards, Reverend Cherry said that all they had was "the moment and yesterday" (112). The more he talked, the more things made sense to City, especially Sooo Sad's presence in the shed.
