Book 2: Adulthood Rites; Section 1: Lo Summary

In chapter one and two Akin is born. He is Lilith's son. Akin looks Human and will look much like a Human until his metamorphosis. Akin is able to put together sentences and speak clearly when he is only two months old. Akin's father is Joseph although Joseph has been dead for a long period of time. Lilith worries that Akin will be hated more than the female constructs but Nikanj disagrees. Nikanj also says that Akin will not only look different from Humans but will also act differently.

In chapter three Akin is warned about Humans by other members of his family. The construct children are highly desired by the sterile Human resisters and since Akin looks so Human, except for the gray tongue Akin has, his family is very careful about keeping him...
