Chapter 8 Summary

The night before the first day of finals, Shana tells Stella that she and Simon are going to chaperone the Grad Night dance. The next day, when Stella arrives at school, Daniel is waiting for her at his locker. When she reminds him that it's the first day of finals, she thinks back to the last time she saw him.

Daniel was trying to convince her to skip school to go to Del Mar with him. When she didn't go, Daniel went anyway and he stayed there for awhile. Since they never exchanged phone numbers and don't know where each other live, Stella cannot go looking or Daniel, so their relationship just kind of disintegrates.
