Summary

In Chapter 30, Liam tells Cork there have been some cases of distemper locally and that he needs to take Jackson to the vet for a vaccine. Cork tells Liam that he believes it could be important to find Big John's canoe and that he might have left it in somewhere up Spider Creek. Liam realizes this would be a way to keep Cork busy and make him feel he was doing something useful. Billy, Jorge and Cork meet and set out upstream. They find the canoe in an isolated spot and partly hidden. The canoe has been damaged.
