Chapter 19-20 Summary

The next morning, Cole returns to Lake Hollywood and examines the place where Riley Ward and Eugene Dersh left the trail and discovered Karen's body. They left the trail at an overgrown, poorly lit spot. Cole decides to visit Ward and ask why they picked that place to wander off the path. Ward cannot give truthful answers to Cole's questions, but Ward's receptionist confirms that Ward, a married family man, has been having an affair with Dersh. Cole shares the new information with Dolan, who makes a few digs at Lucy's heavy southern accent, then tells him that Edward Deege's body has been found.
