Summary

In Chapter 32, Jeremiah got jealous when he saw Belly and Conrad coming in from the beach together. Jeremiah asked Conrad if he still liked Belly. Conrad dodged the question and asked if Jeremiah liked her. Jeremiah said he did really like her and wanted to know if Conrad did. Conrad said he did not. Jeremiah knew he was lying and felt angry with him.

In Chapter 33, Belly woke up to her mother urging her to pack and leave. Belly said she was not going to leave, then she cried and said she wished Susannah was her mother. Her mother seemed unphased, so Belly continued to argue and said that Susannah would hate her for allowing Mr. Fisher to sell the house. Belly’s mother slapped her.
