Summary

In Chapter Six, Jeremiah called Belly and told her that Conrad had disappeared from summer school at Brown, and no one knew where he was. Jeremiah asked Belly if she would help him find his brother. She agreed, hoping that doing so would somehow make things right between her and Conrad because she felt guilty about saying such horrible things to him on the day of his mother’s funeral. Belly lied to her mother and told her she was going to Taylor’s house. Her mother usually spotted lies easily. However, ever since Susannah had died, she had been in a deep depression.
