Summary
In “Gelifen,” Christopher and Mal discovered that Gelifen was hurt in the attack. They comforted him, but Gelifen died.
In “The Worst Question,” Christopher and Mal could not sleep that night. They stayed up wondering if Gelifen would have survived if Mal had “agreed to take the potion, right away” and “hadn’t run away” first (207).
The next night, the friends took Gelifen’s body to the forest on the outskirts of the city. They buried him under a large oak tree and returned to the boat. In the morning, they set sail to the Island of Centaurs, hoping the centaurs would help them make the memory potion. Mal was ready to accept her calling as the Immortal.
