Summary

In the next section, “December 14, 2020,” Holly gets home and goes to sleep. She wakes up feeling rested, but thinking about Chet. She researches him on the internet while she eats breakfast. She watches dozens of his news clips, and in none of them does he have a mole. Soon, she becomes convinced that it is not just makeup hiding the mole--he does not have one at all. She finds the original clip of Chet reporting on the bombing and zooms in on his face. She realizes that it is something stuck on his face. Dirt, or a missed spot of hair from shaving. Or possibly the remains of a fake mustache. She found the video footage of the delivery driver. He was about the same height as Chet, but he had a mustache and a different face.
