Chapter Three: Artificial Life Summary

Maggie wakes with a headache and Rosie gives her a rosemary plant to smell to alleviate the pain. At first, Maggie fears that she'll stand out carrying a plant around and then she realizes that that is exactly what she wants. She walks around the entire day carrying and smelling the rosemary plant.

Miles confronts her at school again and she tells him to leave her alone. She eats lunch with Penny, as usual. Penny is interested in Maggie's remedy of a headache with rosemary.

After school she begins thinking about Portland and Trevor. On a whim, she decides to call him. After many rings, Trevor answers the phone.
