Summary

In Chapter 40, set July 30, 2021, the next morning, Holly meets with Izzy as well as other law enforcement and legal representatives, including the FBI, in the hospital conference room for her debriefing. Izzy notes that there was meat in the freezer believed to be human. There were also several dessert glasses in the refrigerator that contained brain matter and whipped cream. All of the meat was being analyzed and DNA tested.

The district attorney, who is shocked by what he has heard, comments that he has no one to prosecute because Holly killed them. Pete is angry as he reminds the district attorney that Holly had to kill them to save herself.
