Drawings

The drawings are symbolic of communication. The only way that Anya can communicate with the world of the living is through the drawings. The drawings are able to tell the story that Flora/Teddy would not be able to convey.

Addiction

Addiction is symbolic of Mallory’s determination to find out what the drawings mean. Mallory has an addictive personality. While Mallory no longer uses drugs, Mallory becomes obsessed with solving the mystery.

Running
