Summary

Chapter 12 opens the next morning with Teddy and Mallory playing restaurant. Mallory can hear Caroline upstairs. Mallory asks Teddy about the drawings and Teddy says he does not “draw Anya anymore” (144) and that he did not make the drawings. That evening, Mallory has dinner with Russell and Russell explains that Caroline contacted Russell with concerns about Mallory acting strangely. Mallory defends herself and says she is not using drugs. Russell asks if Ted is “a little handsy” (148). Mallory does not tell Russell about Teddy’s drawings. Russell takes Mallory home and Mallory is visibly nervous. Mallory offers to take a drug test to prove to Russell that she is not using and the test is clean.
