Dharmapura

Dharmapura is the city in which the central characters live. It is a thriving metropolis. Devedatta is the smartest man in the whole city and he is famous within its confines as being a wise and extremely intelligent man. Kapila is known throughout the city as being the strongest man of all the citizens. Padmini is said to be the most beautiful woman in the whole city. Devadatta and Kapila first meet and spend many years as best friends in the city. Devedatta first sees Padmini in the market, and he follows her home to watch her. Kapila finds Padmini's house and goes there to ask her to marry Devedatta. The couple is married in the city, and they live together as husband and wife, miserably, in the city.
