Summary

Act I continues as the Princess of Karnataka married the white stallion and lived with him for fifteen years. One morning she woke up and he had transformed into a glorious Celestial being, a gandharva. He had been cursed by the god Kuvera to be born a horse and after fifteen years of human love he had finally turned into his real self. Finally released from his curse, he asked the princess to come to his celestial home with him, but she said she would only come if he would become a horse again. He cursed her to be a horse and she ran away happily while the gandharva went to his Heavenly Abode. Only Hayavadana, their child, was left behind.

Hayavadana asks Bhagavata what he should do to get rid of his head, and Bhagavata suggests he go to a holy temple...
