Summary

In Chapter 6: “Texture,” Lucy wakes up to discover Dad has responded to her text messages, which makes her happy. Lucy always finds the first week her Dad is away on a trip to be the hardest. Mom suggests going to North Conway to shop, but Lucy asks to go hiking on Cherry Mountain instead. Mom agrees, saying it will give her more time to unpack. Mom and Lucy plan to have banana splits for dessert after dinner. Lucy then meets up with Nate, and is sad to hear Grandma Lilah cannot come because she can no longer do the hike. She instead asks Nate to bring along the old photo of him and Grandma Lilah on the mountaintop. Nate agrees. As Lucy hikes along with Nate, she thinks about how much she is coming to like Nate.
