Summary

Chapter 13 returns to Margot's perspective as she sits in the makeup trailer on the set of her show as she receives a call from her agent, Donna. After ten years as a popular doctor character on the soapy hospital drama, Margot has asked the show's creator Bess for more money, and Margot assumes that Donna is calling with news of the salary. When Donna makes clear she has bad news, Margot hastily concludes her makeup session to have her conversation in the relative privacy of her trailer, which immediately prompts the gossipy makeup artist to start sending text messages. Margot's character will be killed off on the show within the next few episodes in an attempt to boost sagging ratings and elevate a younger character, an actress Margot detests, to lead status. Margot is crushed, but Donna reminds her that just two years...
