The Nest Overview

The lives of three of the siblings in the Plumb family are thrown into chaos when they learn the inheritance they had expected from their father has been used to pay the costs of their brother’s drunken car accident in the novel “The Nest” by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney. When they learn they won’t be getting the amount of money they had originally thought they would, two of the three siblings face financial ruin. One struggles with her disillusionment in the brother who had always been her mentor. Themes in the novel include the dangers of counting on sure things, changes in family relationships and the length that some people will go to keep up appearances.
