Chapter 12 Summary

Carmen is spending another day with Valia, and Valia is in no better mood than before. She refuses to get into Carmen's car for the trip to the hospital because Carmen holds the steering wheel wrong. As a result, Carmen pushes her the two miles to the hospital in her wheelchair.

After Carmen looks around the hospital for over forty minutes for the guy she doesn't hate yet, they finally meet. Exchanging names, she finds out that he is Win. When Carmen tells Win that Valia's husband passed away a year ago and that she had to leave her home in Greece, Win tells her that Valia has one good thing going for her. When Carmen asks, "What's that?" Win says, "She has you."

When Lena finally gets up the courage to go back to the art class, she and Annik talk once...
