Summary

Pella returns home to find her family eating dinner with the Kincaids. She realizes that she left the bag of pills in Nugent’s house. When Bruce talks to Pella in private, Pella complains about the fact that David and Martha now appear to be loyal to Morris Grant. Hugh Merrow arrives during the dinner to say that he is moving back to Earth. Clement protests, but Merrow does not listen. Internally, Pella believes that Clement views Merrow as a future voter and that that is the reason he does not want Merrow to leave. In Chapter 15, the children are in Merrow’s abandoned house with three Archbuilders: Lonely Dumptruck, Hiding Kneel, and Gelatinous Stand.
