Chapters 5-6 Summary

When Claire arrives at the laboratory where Myrnin is housed, she realizes someone had given his cell a makeover. No longer bare like a monk's cell, it now is furnished with a Turkish rug, comfortable bed, and stacks of books. Classical music is playing. Claire finds him lying in bed, dressed in a blue silk dressing gown with dragons on it. Myrnin begs for food (implying blood) and Eve reports she has some new "medicine" for him in the form of the red crystals given to her by Dr. Mills. Myrnin protests that he should not have to take orders from Claire, since she is "property" but she shoots him with the dart gun, provoking him to call her a "little bitch."
