Summary

Tio re-enters. Juicy tells him that he saw Pap’s ghost but is unable to give any further details because his mom Tedra enters. Tedra asks Tio to go to the store to buy beer. Tedra goes inside to get changed. Juicy recounts to Tio what Pap’s ghost told him. Juicy and Tio discuss whether Juicy is capable of murdering Rev. Tio reveals that he has been talking to his therapist about Juicy and they discussed how difficult it is to escape cycles of violence. Tio points out that Juicy’s dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather all went to prison and before that his family were slaves. Tio says that Juicy doesn’t have to let the history of violence and trauma in his family define who he is.
