Flor

Flor is eccentric, calm, and fearless. She is extremely loving towards her family, although she struggles with asserting and maintaining boundaries with them, her husband and daughter in particular.

Through various flashbacks of her life, she is described leaving her childhood home of the Dominican Republic and moving to New York City with her husband and infant daughter. She is the mother of Ona, and the two women have a close and loving relationship.

Flor, like many of the other women in her family, has a supernatural gift that she calls her "magic." Since childhood, Flor has premonitions while she sleeps, particularly of the impending deaths of those close to her.
