Summary

In the story “L.T.’s Theory of Pets,” the narrator states that his friend, L.T. DeWitt, rarely talks about how his wife disappeared. L.T. does tell his theory of pets, a story that starts on the day his wife, Lulubelle, left him. Lucy, the Siamese cat he had gotten for Lulu, met him at the door. He loved Lucy, but Lulu hated her. Lulu admitted in her goodbye letter she left that she was jealous of how much attention L.T. gave Lucy. She added she had taken Frank, the dog she bought for L.T., with her.
