Chapters 33 through 38 Summary

In Chapter Thirty-three, Ever arrives at Ava's house. Ava reveals that Riley actually stopped before crossing the bridge and returned to Ever. She says that decision means Riley now has no choice but to remain with Ever unless Ever gives Riley her blessing to move on. Ava teaches Ever to insulate herself from the psychic abilities. Though Ava pleads with Ever, Ever refuses to learn to undo the block. Ava's final comment is that Ever's said good-bye to "the wrong person."

In Chapter Thirty-four, Ever spends time around town with Miles and Haven, enjoying the release from the psychic onslaught. Riley appears but says she's had to ramp up the energy in order to reach Ever through the shield she's learned to create. On Valentine's Day, Ever receives a lollipop with a message from Damen.
