Summary

In “Penny,” when Sam returned, Penny noticed they were not just wearing the same shoes, but the same outfit, all in black. Penny noticed that Sam also had a cowlick. She thought it was great “When a single detail rebelled against the package” (44). She wished she could touch it.

When Mallory discovered she had bitten into a pistachio donut she spat it out on the table. Penny was disgusted when Jude picked up the glob of chewed food. Jude could not find anywhere to put it, so Penny handed her a wet wipe out of her go-bag. Penny provided another wet wipe and stain stick when Jude dropped red filling on her shirt. Mallory grabbed Penny’s bag to find out what else Penny had in there. Penny snatched her bag back when Mallory pulled out, among other things, a single condom.
