Summary

Chapter Nine opens with Dunbar slipping out of the barn in Nutting where he spent the night after his long hike in the snow and cold. The reason Dunbar is new leaving Nutting in such a hurry us because of the two men who came into the barn the previous night, Kevin and J, who were sent by Megan and Abby. He had arrived two hours before them and had climbs up hay and hidden himself inside, where he cannot be seen from floor level, and soon falls asleep.

He had awoken in the middle of the night, heart pounding, to the voices of two strange men in the barn. He recognized Kevin’s British accent and knew he was Abigail’s security man. The two men searched the barn but didn’t think an old man like Dunbar would be able to climb...
