Nikki

Nikki J. Maxwell is the main character and principal protagonist in the novel “Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life” by Rachel Renee Russell. Nikki is 14 years old, is sweet, kind, very artistic, not very good at math, and pretty. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell, has a grandmother, and is the older sister of Brianna. Nikki hopes that her new school, Westchester Day, will yield popularity, friends, and a fun time to her. Yet, she worries about starting school because she doesn’t know anyone, and because her family is not wealthy like the families of all the other students who attend.

From the start, Nikki feels as if she doesn’t fit in or belong. No one says hello to her, and she quickly becomes a target for bullying courtesy of MacKenzie, who seems to zero in on Nikki like no one else...
