Summary

In Chapter 14, “The Ultimate Asian Woman,” Ingrid returned to Platinum Investigative Associates. She wanted the PI to find John Smith now that he had left town. On her way to campus, she worried about the “sternly worded emails” she had received from the department (255). She was unsure if she would finish her dissertation or stay “in the program” (255). On campus, she talked to Professor Wenli Zhao. Her words about survival encouraged Ingrid. Afterwards, she ran into Vivian, who apologized for looking down on Ingrid (259). When Ingrid revealed the truth about Chou and the website, Vivian’s demeanor changed. Afterwards, Ingrid scheduled her defense date.
