Chapter Nine Summary

Sookie and Bill return to Fangtasia to meet with Eric. They find Eric in a small room with a human named Bruce, the accountant for the bar who is obviously frightened. Eric wants Sookie to listen to Bruce's thoughts and find out if he is the person who has stolen sixty-thousand dollars from the club. Sookie agrees, but only if Eric promises to turn the guilty member over to the police. Eric is amused, but agrees with her demands.

Sookie listens to Bruce and tells Eric that the man is innocent. A waitress named Ginger is called in and Sookie is able to determine that the woman knows who the thief is but is unable to name the person, having been hypnotized. Ginger's best friend is brought into the office, and Sookie is able to determine that Longshadow, the bartender is...
