Chapters 13 and 14 Summary

After Saturday morning's cheerleading practice, Daisy waits for Ryan outside of the football locker rooms. Ryan, however, never emerges. Daisy goes home and makes plans to have a girls' night in with her sisters. Samantha calls and invites herself over. Samantha is apologizing to Daisy for spreading the rumors that Daisy's father left town with another woman when Daisy's mom walks in.

Daisy's mom invites Samantha to stay for dinner and to spend the night when she finds out Samantha's parents are out of town. When Daisy takes her mom a cup of tea into the living room, Daisy's mom tells Daisy that her father was working on something secretive when he disappeared.
