Summary

In Chapter 7, Xingyin learns how to use magic. In a special ceremony, Xingyin discovers that she has proficiency in fire and wind magic, whereas Liwei is strong in both fire and life (healing) magic. Her magic teacher, Daoming, tells her there are five elements of magic: water, fire, air, earth and life. She also learns from her magic teacher of a sixth element that is forbidden, called Mind magic. This kind of magic can be used to control the minds of others. Daoming tells Xingyin that evil immortals in the Demon Realm used this kind of magic to try and overthrow the Emperor, and that is why it was forbidden.

In Chapter 8, Liwei takes Xingyin to a magical market outside of the castle grounds. They visit a variety of booths selling magical items as well as food from the mortal realm...
