Summary

As Book 3, Chapter 1 began, Haris thought about what to do now that Saied was in the Delvet Hospital. He considered confronting Saied and demanding back what he had stolen, but he also wondered how he would be able to cross the closed border, even if he got his money back and could purchase a taxi. He also considered doing nothing. With his money and belongings stolen, he had an excuse to remain safe in Antep, Turkey.

Haris flashed back to his experiences with Jim. He remembered when Jim interrogated Kareem because his uncle was suspect, and he had wanted Kareem to tell him where his uncle lived.
