Pages 184-212 Summary

Donna cracks the windows in hopes of conjuring up a breeze. Donna continues to pin her hopes on the mailman. As Tad reads the Monster Words, Donna finds herself thinking about her parents and their unhappy relationship. Tad urges Donna to try the motor again. Donna is afraid it will attract Cujo, but she tries anyway. The car not only does not start, but it is clear the battery is dying. Donna promises Tad he can have all the soda he wants when they get home. As they sit quietly together, Donna surveys the yard again and she sees a baseball bat lying in the grass.
