Part 2, The Quell: Chapters 13-15 Summary

In chapter thirteen, Katniss runs out of the house and ends up hiding in the basement of an empty Victor's house. When she finally has control of her feelings, Katniss goes to see Haymitch. Haymitch accuses Katniss of coming to beg him to be the tribute to save Peeta, but instead Katniss asks for a drink. They drink together until Katniss becomes very drunk and returns home to find Gale waiting for her, regretting they did not run away when she wanted to. Gale takes Katniss to bed and she sleeps late. Katniss wakes with a terrible hangover. Katniss returns to Haymitch's house and finds Peeta there, throwing out all the alcohol and refuses to allow either of them to drink ever again.
