Summary

In Chapter Ten, Maren dreamed of Mrs. Harmon, who told her that Sully was not a nice man. Maren said she was just like him, but Mrs. Harmon said she was not. When Maren woke up, she thought her mother had returned to find her, but Sully was sitting in her room holding her father’s ID. He explained that Frances was his son and Maren was his granddaughter. He told her that it was true that he did only eat people when they were dead, but he sometimes killed them first. He had wanted to kill Francis, but he could not reach him inside the hospital. He attacked Maren and tried to eat her, but she fought him off and hit his head with a statue he had taken from Mrs. Harmon’s house. Maren ran outside with none of her things...
