Summary

Chapter 11 opens with a saying that Teeks should always Sing instead of speak.

Xiala's ship stops at Lost Moth and tells Callo to gather the crew. She speaks with the cook Patu and worries he is sick, but Patu promises he would not have come with something worse. He is thrilled to see that Balam gave them a variety of food including alcohol. Patu agrees to cook a feast as Xiala goes to meet their passenger. She assumes he is a stuffy Obregi monk that would disapprove of her heritage and choices. As she is about to introduce herself, the ship lands and she leaves with the crew.

The crew is happy as the feast begins and many cheer for her. Xiala waits for them to relax before revealing Balam's demand to reach Tova in 19 days. Loob says they will need to row...
