Zoey Redbird

Zoey is a high school student. She is friends with Erin, Damien, and Shaunee. All of them sit at their special table in the school cafeteria each day for lunch. Zoey is the leader of the Dark Daughters and she is also the narrator of the novel.

Zoey has a tattoo on her face and shoulders. The tattoo is the Mark, which Zoey earned from saving her ex-boyfriend from vampyre ghosts. Zoey is the third of the only high school freshman leaders of the Dark Daughters. She also shows an affinity for all of the five elements. Zoey has only had the Mark for one month while the novel is unfolding.

Zoey changed her last name to Redbird after coming to the House of Night. Students, such as Zoey, become emancipated when they enroll in the school. This is also when they change their last names. Zoey's...
