Summary

The next chapter takes place in June 1981. The ASCANS traveled to Mississippi for training and visited New Orleans on their way back. Joan drank more alcohol than usual and surprised the others by agreeing to come with them when Donna suggested they went to a strip club. In the strip club, Joan became transfixed by a stripper named Raven. Vanessa left early. Joan and Griff exited the club together. Joan tried to kiss Griff but he resisted, saying he wanted to kiss her but not while she was drunk. Joan tried again and this time Griff reciprocated before Joan abruptly ended the kiss, apologizing to Griff. Griff found a taxi to take Joan back to the hotel.
