Summary

The next chapter returns to December 29th, 1984, beginning from Vanessa’s perspective. Vanessa is now the only conscious astronaut on board the Navigator. She returns from the airlock to the cabin and struggles to remove her spacesuit which was not designed for someone to get in and out of unassisted. She screams. She manages to get the unconscious Griff out of his spacesuit and sees that he has signs of internal bleeding. She sees Hank and realizes that he is dead. She tries not to think about his wife Donna, who has recently given birth to their baby daughter Thea. She sees Steve, who is also dead. She reports the injuries and deaths to Houston. Joan asks Vanessa to locate Lydia, who they believe is still alive. Vanessa finds her and discovers that Lydia found the leak and sealed it before losing consciousness. Vanessa...
