Chapter 11 Summary

Lib and Randy marry at noon on Easter Sunday. She wears a white dress and heels that make her unsteady. Preacher Henry performs the service since Randy's Order No. 4 authorizes ordained ministers to perform marriages. Before the wedding there is news from Easter Sunrise services of the Hickey house raided by highwaymen. Jim and his wife are dead and two children orphaned. Randy wears his uniform because martial law requires it on active duty. He wants to ambush and kill the highwaymen right after the ceremony. Sam convinces Randy to wait and follow the plan because the highwaymen sleep days and strike at night. Randy's plan is on a large-scale county map marked with crosses where highwaymen attack.
