Chapters 70-80 Summary

Una stays away from Kit for the next three days. She is invited to dinner at the captain's table their last night at sea. The men tell her about Nantucket. After dinner, Ahab asks her to walk on deck with him. Una compares Ahab to her father. In the middle of the night, she goes to Ahab's cabin to be with Kit.

In chapter seventy-one, the Pequod arrives at Nantucket. Ahab says Kit will receive pay for work performed while at sea. Kit and Una walk the streets of Nantucket. Kit introduces Una as his wife. They meet Charlotte, who is now married to Mr. Hussey, owner of the Try Pots Tavern. They dine together and Kit seems normal. They are invited to stay at the Hussey's. That night Kit makes love to her from behind and calls her Giles.
