Summary

In Chapter 22, Xishi visited Lady Yu and instructed her that it was time for her father to follow the instructions Xishi had given him. Xishi returned to the banquet which was coming to an end. Xishi and Fuchai retired to bed and Xishi told him stories from her childhood as he peacefully drifted to sleep. The look of contentment on his face made Xishi feel guilty. In the morning, Xishi was woken by Fuchai shaking her, informing her that there was an attack. She briefly worried he knew she was complicit but it became apparent he was only concerned for her safety. Guards arrived to evacuate them from the palace.
