Summary

In Chapter 17, Xishi kept waiting for some sort of punishment for saying Fanli’s name but it never arrived. One day, she was summoned to court and asked to sit beside Fuchai. Fanli was brought into the room. Fuchai asked if Xishi knew who he was. She managed to stifle her emotions and answer that she thought he was a military adviser to the Yue King. Wu Zizu plunged a sword into Fanli’s chest, causing him great pain. Xishi succeeded in not reacting. Fanli also did not react but Xishi thought she saw a touch of pride in his eyes at her success in not revealing her true feelings. Eventually, Fuchai accepted that Xishi did not know Fanli or care about him and ordered Zizu to let Fanli go.

In Chapter 18, Fanli left a trail of blood which Xishi followed to find him...
